Hertfordshire Social Work Teaching Partnership is made up of:

Our Aims

  • Provide high quality training for social workers by bringing together Higher Education institutions and employers
  • Improve the overall quality of practice
  • Improve recruitment, retention and development of social workers
  • Ensure more good placements are available for students
  • Give more support to practice educators
  • Make better use of practising social workers and people with lived experience in educating social work students.

Our Vision

  • Be a centre of social work excellence, through its commitment to research informed practice and academic rigor. Ensuring practice is at the heart of all that we do to support; children, adults, families and communities to achieve their best possible outcomes
  • Exemplify practice quality through first class training for pre and post qualifying social workers improving the recruitment and retention of our workforce and ensuring a steady stream of high-calibre social workers to the frontline
  • Support our practice educators to create good quality student placements to meet the complex challenges of frontline practice
  • Promote the value of social workers and experts by experience in educating social work students and create opportunities for academics to experience practice
